Chet Culver better mobilize the Iowa National Guard.

Big Chet's too busy mobilizing his re-election campaign, in the midst for a 10% across the board layoffs and cuts in the state government, which includes the ING.

Welch Avenue is going to look like a level-5 version of VEISHA tonight. It's going to get real unruly!!

I know the score was 9-7, but the score might as well been 8-0. Iowa State winning in Lincoln without its starting quarterback, starting running back and best defensive lineman? Wow.

And best of all, regardless of what happens in Lawrence, the Big 12 North is looking up at ... Kansas State.

despite not playing until tonight, Texas A&M has already given up three touchdown passes to Texas Tech.

Bizarre, but true. K-State and Iowa State could actually make bowls this season. Could Iowa State be getting the better of end the Rhoads-for-Chizik swap with Auburn?

Three TD passes? What? Was Mike Leach feeling sorry for Sherman?

They are. Big difference is that Rhodes wants to be in Ames and coach this team. Chizik wanted to be back in Auburn.

It's also pretty sweet to see a first-time HC like Rhodes get off to a promising start with this program. Fans haven't been this happy since McCarney was on the sidelines.

I thought ISU got the better of it from the start just by having a guy who wanted to be there [EDIT: As D-3 just posted].

What are the Big 12-SEC bowl match-ups? I know of the Cotton and Shreveport. A Rhoads-Chizik reunion would be entertaining.

Indiana State, proud owners of the nation's longest losing streak, lead Western Illinois at halftime.
