    You have no clue.

UT even being IN the game w/ 1:00 left against this team in its home stadium is un-fucking-believable, given the level of talent on the Vols squad.

The way UT played on the road against 2 No. 1 teams this season indicates things are looking very, very bright in Knoxville.

Seriously? This is just silly. The game was over.

I was at Applebees when that score flashed across, and I damn near choked on my cheeseburger.

How in the FUCK do you give up 52 points to this team? KState puts up 58 in 3 quarters last week, and you manage 30?

    Brutal.

Oh; I'm thinking Gary Pinkel was wishing he was offered the Washington job instead of Leach.

And I think Leach is regretting his decision.

I'm watching the Stanford 24, Arizona State 0 game 13 minutes left in the third - Barry Tompkins just said the refs called their first penalty of the game. Surprising for an Erickson coached team. Geez, I really would have thought he'd have had things cranked up in Tempe by now. ASU is like the South Carolina of the West - I've never understood why they weren't a perennial top 25 team.

I was not surprised at all to find out that Stricherz is a vice-principal at a parochial school. They guy looks like the kind of guy that would suspend a student for throwing confetti or decorating a locker to celebrate a friend's birthday. The kind of guy who would correct your grammar when you explain to him that you were late for school because you found out your grandma died.

    This is why I love Leach;

"If you have a ridiculously weak opponent, you might play bad and overpower them, but you can't do that against a tradition and a program like Texas A&M," Leach said. "If it was easy anybody could do it. If it was easy, I'd be coaching the Swedish bikini team and I'd have them coming out here to do all this."

"I don't think Potts ever got in a rhythm," Leach said. "I don't know if he tried to make too much happen. ....just looked, you know, slow and statue-like."

Obviously every TV commentator and every reporter and yes, every commenter on this thread and others the last few weeks here has never made a mistake. Because there are a lot of holier-than-thou motherfuckers questioning the judgment and integrity of every official in every game.

No, college football officials are not perfect. But they aren't on the take and they aren't protecting teams. Seeing plays in live action is fucking tough and they don't get them all right. Absolutely won't try to say that they do. But it's not for lack of effort.

For example, in tonight's Florida game... on Florida's INT return for touchdown, ESPN commentators weren't sure about the call and were pleased it was going to replay. The officials got the same looks that ESPN showed and determined (correctly) that there was not proof that the call could be overturned.

The game goes to commercial after the PAT and by that time, a good five minutes after the TD and initial call for replay, ESPN was able to create a split-screen view that they swear was synced up (and we should believe them and not the officials just because ESPN would never lie to us) and only then did it appear that the Florida player didn't score.

I propose that we cancel all sports until EA Sports can create a perfect video game model so that every call will be correct and the best team will always win.

And at the same time, every tv analyst, writer, editor and commenter will be held to the same standard. Make a mistake and you should be suspended, fired, ridiculed and subjected to death threats.

Mike Leach was, is and likely will continue to be worth the price of admission.

I can report that there is a heavy amount of bitterness and bile on the Michigan State messageboards right now.

    I am also quite drunk.

Armchair, I'm just getting started. A Smithwick and a Boulevard Wheat to start the late evening. A fun day in Iowa, indeed.

But come Sunday, it's back to normal. The season is not over yet and no time to take a week off.

    Can we start asking questions?

Mine is when will The Mighty Gopher return to the Rose Bowl, and who will be coaching the MG for said game? :D
