Has someone informed Jimbo Fisher that there's this thing called the play clock? And FSU would have less time management problems if Fisher wouldn't demand that Ponder run to the sideline every other play to get the call. Christ, the kid has probably run for 200 yards tonight just going from the middle of the field, to the sideline, then back to the huddle again.

Terry Bowden should have been named the heir apparent offensive coordinator when his brother Jeff was named to that spot in 2001.

No, most coaches would not have tried to chase points that early.

If they don't make it, then they are down five and have to chase points the rest of the day. (a touchdown only puts them up one so they have to go for two because an extra point means nothing).

It is dumb to chase points that early in the game and good coaches don't.

What is the difference between being down four points or five at that point?

You're going to need a TD to take the lead either way.

Roy Williams gives a shit about Carolina football apparently.

Because the other team is likely to get a field goal at some point.

It was the difference between being down four points or three points. Get your calculator out.

On the contrary, most are going for two earlier these days. Overtime has changed things a bit.

Because if you are down five and the other team - which has moved the ball all night - if it gets a field goal, then you are down seven instead of eight.

It is a huge difference and any coach worth his salt will tell you that is way too early to start chasing points.

Had there been four or five minutes left in the fourth quarter, yes, then you go for two because you might only get one more shot to score and you can tie it with a field goal.

    It is football 101.

No, they are not, not in the third quarter, not winning coaches.

Yup ... someone stole some uniforms out of a closet in Durham. Funny, funny stuff.
