Vulture has The Mindy Project, The Good Wife, Nashville and Parenthood as quite likely to return and Community as a better than 50-percent shot.

Bones, Sherlock, BBC Sherlock and The Bridge all have main characters who are pretty much Autistic (Asperberger's) as well.

  8. Sherlock's a "high-functioning sociopath."

You could add Elementary to that list. I remember about a decade ago reading about CSI and them describing the Grissom character as having a mild case of Aspergers.

There were a lot of shows listed that surprised me. One of the reasons Vegas was canceled last season was because it was very high-cost and wasn't getting huge ratings. I remember the same thing being said about "Smith" from several years ago.

Smith lasted all of one episode. It had a great cast, but even by the standards of network TV required too much willing suspension of disbelief in the pilot episode.
CBS has a model and it works for them. It wants programs that appeal to senior citizens, the viewing market it dominates. All of its crime dramas have become emofests where the wise parent (grandparent in the case of Blue Bloods) protagonist solves the rest of the cast's emotional issues. That makes the grandparents watching feel good. Good Wife is a little too complex to fit into that mode.

    It lasted three episodes.

EW had called it the "biggest sure thing in the TV season"

    Oops.
