I think what you're saying sums up how I felt about the cancer plot. I rolled my eyes because of course Christina was going to get cancer. It just seemed too easy. But then as I opened up to it, they really handled it so well.

I generally find Lauren Graham obnoxious. I'm pretty sure I would have loved Gilmore Girls with someone else playing Lorelai. And everything about Ray Romano reminds me of Everybody Loves Raymond, which may be the TV show I hate the most of all TV shows ever created.

It was as cheesy and predictable as Wilson getting cancer at the end of "House."

And Lauren Graham also irritates me. She plays the same character over and over, a woman who is surrounded by man trouble. Even when she finds one and has a good thing going, she finds a way to blow it up to chase another man. Lather, rinse, repeat. My wife watched "Gilmore Girls" and it was the same thing every season. I swear Graham has transplanted the same character from CW to NBC.

It was nowhere near that cheesy.

    TNT cancels "Southland"
NBC cancels "Rock Center with Brian Williams" and Matthew Perry's "Go On"

Community season finale, which apparently won't be the series finale?, was bad. Really, really bad. Not just "not as good as Community used to be," but actively awful.

Because Aaron Rodgers was on it, I tuned in to The Office last night. I had given up on the show about four years ago because it had gotten too absurd. But I have to say I enjoyed it last night. I'll be more open to watching it in reruns.

Kind of enjoyed Jim and Dwight getting along. Dwight was still Dwight but not nearly as over-the-top. I even pulled for him at the end with Angela.

The Oscar-Angela arc was interesting, too. And Creed was great.

Not surprised about Southland. All of the leads were up for renewals, TNT figures it can get the same or better ratings with something cheaper.
Surprised about Rock Center. Not cool to tick off Williams. At least say it will be "on standby" as a plug in. Most of the staff were freelance. Also figured they'd pair Go On with the new MJ Fox comedy to try and revive "must see TV"

NBC would have to be complete idiots to axe Community or Parks and Rec since both are pretty close to the windfall that comes with syndication.

Loved The Americans. Can't wait to see how next season plays out.
Just finished watching BBC's Wallander on Netflix streaming, and thought Kenneth Branagh did an amazing job. Supposedly a final three episodes of Wallander are due some time next year.
Saw Luther (with Idris Elba) on Netflix a month or so ago... another good show with more episodes due next year.
I'm on pins and needles each week waiting for Game of Thrones, and can't wait for the next season of Shameless.
Damn, I watch too much TV.

Does that still matter anymore? I can think of several shows in recent years that hit syndication before reaching 100 episodes.

Yeah, that wasn't a very good Community. I think the new show runners had the misguided idea that the best way to keep the fans interested would be to continue on with some of Harmon's high-concept ideas, ideas that had already run their course. But the finale was produced out of order and the last few episodes the new team actually produced were decent. If the show comes back I have a bit of hope next season will be better overall.

Anybody else watch Veep? That show is hilarious and I find foul-mouthed JLD unbelievably hot.
