In a similar vein - the Wilhelm Scream

    That's tremendous.

There have been many documentaries about Star Wars that I can't remember which one it was, but there was a great one where they showed how they came up with many of the sound effects they used in the films.

For example, Chewbacca's growl was a mash-up of various zoo animals growling (lions, tigers, apes). Also, they made the blaster sounds by hitter a high-tension guy wire with a wrench and recording it with a very sensitive microphone.

Didn't see this anywhere else, but apparently Season 2 of True Detective is going to star Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch as the two cops. Elisabeth Moss is going to play the female lead and Vince Vaughn will play the villain.

Didn't end well. I hate the James Bond villian explaining exactly what and how he did it.

I saw that NBC pulled off a rare feat... Undateable (a series that premiered during the summer) was picked up for a second season. Usually, that only happens to reality shows.

I want to say "arrrrrgggggh," but I realize I never really gave that a chance. It just sounded tragic.

I think it's five or maybe six episodes in. Anyone watching Satisfaction on USA. I'm really getting into it. And Stephanie Szostak is really nice to look at.

The Knick - God damn awful show name, but the first episode of this period medical drama set in New York City was awesome. WARNING: You must have an iron stomach.

Garfunkel and Oates - I feel like this road has been taken before. They're sorta funny, but it's a bit too whimsical.

Nathan For You - I think the second season just wrapped, but this is the most innovative and funny show on TV.

I wasn't as enamored of The Knick as I thought I would be. The sound editing and to a lesser extent the direction were far too showy and a distraction.

I binge-watched two shows this summer to catch up before fall premieres: "Arrow" and "New Girl" (still have to watch season 3). Both are definitely keepers.

Sorry, that's all I've got to offer.

If you bail on The New Girl now, you'll remember it fondly and save yourself so much crushing disappointment when it grinds to a creative halt bereft of anything resembling humor.
