The TV thread

So because I had to reset my DirecTV tuner over the summer, I lost all the DVR season passes and haven't gotten them all restored (just didn't remember all the shows I had in there, so some slipped through the cracks).

So I missed the season premiere of Modern Family. Now this has never been a problem before between the network websites, Hulu and OnDemand.

But I have since learned that Hulu is no longer free. So I go to OnDemand. Well, ABC isn't putting Modern Family up on OnDemand for some reason. So now I go to ABC.com and find out that I have to enter the name of my TV programming provider ... and DirecTV isn't one of choices.

I pay enough for DirecTV that I am not going to start paying for things like Hulu. What the hell is up with ABC that you can't watch an ABC show on their website if you get your TV through DirecTV? And why are its shows not on OnDemand 24 hours after they've been shown? You'd think they would want to make it easier to see their shows, not harder.

I've had the same problem. ABC isn't the only network to have that issue with DirecTV. I assume it is some sort of contractual issue, but it really sucks.

That said, leaving DirecTV means giving up NFL Ticket, so I guess I'll go without watching shows online.

I don't think Modern Family has ever been On Demand.

If Zeek Braverman was my dad and he was that much of an assclown to a doctor, I would just walk away and let him find his own way home from Vegas.

Yeah, kinda my thought, too. Can't say it was unexpected.

I thought that was some of Craig T. Nelson's finest work in the role. Should Parenthood's final season get it's own thread?

Yeah, I don't look at it as a DirecTV problem, I look at it as an ABC problem.

I would be fine with that.

I'm down. And yes, great acting...made me hate an actor I like. That's talent.

Would anyone doubt that Zeek would be a terrible patient?

Well, he is sort of a terrible everything, if you really want to look at the broadview.
He's cheated on his wife and ignores her wants and needs for the most part, made bad business deals (and hid it), has a terrible relationship with his mother, he can't take care of himself when he is on his own and he's paranoid to the point of threatened violence to a man even though he is the one that pushed his wife away and toward him in the first place.

Oh, wait...he's a good mechanic. He got that car up and running (on the backs of child labor, mind you!) :)
