    Two comments about TV remakes:

    1) Hawaii Five-O is being moved by CBS to Friday this fall. Doesn't that pretty much say "Aloha" to the remake?

    2) NBC is remaking Ironside with Blair Underwood and setting the show, not in San Francisco where the '67-74 original with Raymond Burr was set, but in NYC. Doomed? Great idea? Just curious what the SportsJournalists.com crowd thought. A co-worker of mine said he is not sure the revamp will work.

Blue Bloods gets pretty good ratings on Friday nights. Is 5-0 paired with that or are they moving Blue Bloods?

Can't say, Mizzou. All I heard was it was being moved. If Blue Bloods is doing well, it could be a move to bolster Five-0. I have literally only seen bits and pieces of Blue Bloods, so I have no idea what it's about except NYC Cops.

I understand that for a certain demographic (18 to maybe 35) Friday and Saturday nights are nights to go out and party. ABC was on to something years back aiming their Friday night block at kids with their TGIFriday lineup. I remember when I was a kid, Friday night was the huge TV night on ABC with The Brady Bunch, Nanny and the Professor, The Partridge Family and The Odd Couple, followed by Love, American Style. I was a little too young to fully enjoy The Odd Couple then. Now it's one of my staples on METV.

Fridays are Undercover Boss, Hawaii 5-0 and Blue Bloods....

That's a pretty strong lineup. I don't watch Undercover Boss, but it gets good ratings... I don't think it's a bad move for 5-0. I think CBS wants Monday night to carry one of the new shows.

Everything on CBS gets good ratings. They had 12 of the top 25 shows this season.

Yeah, CBS has a pretty solid lineup every night but Saturday and no network has a strong Saturday night lineup.

Does the night a show is on even matter any more with so many people watching on their DVRs?

I can't recall the last time I watched a non sporting event live.

My sister laughed at my parents pretty hard for asking what night a show was on after she recommended it. It's a big generation gap thing.

Not only do I not know what night most things are on, I don't even know what channel. I skip commercials, and everything's on my DVR. The only things I watch live are if I have my TV on and it changes to record something. Otherwise, everything is from my DVR.

It's so bad with me when I'm watching a live event I keep automatically clicking FF out of habit during the commercials.
