My question was rhetorical. That system flies in the face of those who suggest the invisible hand drives all stable workflow.

Matt Dillon, Carla Gugino, M. Night Shayamalan in a not-Twin Peaks-like show that's based on a Twin Peaks book.

I don't know what qualifies as being considered the highest quality in most countries means. BBC has had its share of bad programs through the years.
The BBC also cost the British public more than $3 billion (2002-03) figures. So you better like all the shows; you pay for them whether you watch them or not.

Robert David Sullivan makes a terrific counterpoint to a recent slate article decrying those who say TV has bettered movies. His general point is that TV makes more sense in the modern era. Here's an excerpt:

The supporting cast of Orange Is The New Black might be the best on TV. Just immense performances all around from vets like Kate Mulgrew and Michelle Hurst to relative newcomers like Yael Stone and Uzo Abuba (Crazy Eyes). The lead doesn't matter that much with everything else going on.

3/4 of the way through the first season of Family Tree and I love it. It hits the perfect note of being silly in a hilarious way.

It sounds as though it may be the only season.

    That would suck.
