I just decided it wasn't made for me. If others loved it and felt it, great. I found it preachy, condescending, and self-congratulatory. But like the USWNT, different people can see different qualities in the same thing. I'm sure others saw it as brave and triumphant.

Does anybody know what Michael Che thought about Nanette?

Celebrating the laughs which she got on her 6th-13th jokes was just poor form.

"Succession" returns in two weeks. Can't wait.

Loving "Years and Years." Saddened by some of the plot twists.

"Yellowstone" has been great. Costner's best work (yes, probably damn faint praise to some, but he's excellent).

Have two episodes of "City on a Hill" to watch.

Just finished "Big Little Lies." Loved Meryl Streep's lawyer; he played a schitzo lawyer who defended himself on "Law and Order" many years ago in an excellent episode.

Weird! I just watched this very episode of L&O on my DVR 10 minutes ago!

We are talking about Denis O’Hare, whose Edgington character was the highlight of True Blood.

Love that episode, where at the end McCoy says he would have hired the guy had he been healthy.

Late to the game, but I watched both seasons of GLOW over the past week and was very entertained. Last two episodes were especially strong.

    New season drops Aug. 9.

I think Law and Order went a bit sideways after Hennesey left. It was never as good after that. Pretty sure I've seen every episode, at least 99 percent of the original L&O - even watched the british version based on the original scripts. Good stuff. Saw an episode with Noth about what made the show "different" from other shows, he breathed out so you could see how cold it was - he said "that." I'm guessing he was referring to NYPD Blue which shot in LA.

I think I've mentioned it before, but the original L&O episodes are almost "boring" in how slow the detectives and prosecutors work, in their respective halves of the weekly episode. Like, most of the episode was focused on the case, and you only got hints of the characters' natures. They slowed expanded this as the shows went on, and it has basically went into hyperdrive with SVU, which I find almost unwatchable between the over the top drama and the pretty grisly subject matter.

Honestly, the focus on the narrative was what made it great. You'd open with a scene about one thing, some bum rolled in an alley and it would end with the conviction of a Park Ave. doctor or socialite.

Hadn't read that. I'm stoked now! It really is a great show

  12. The Boys. Wow!!!
The previews kind of made it out to be ... funny .... It is not.
    It is dark.
Makes the Watchmen look like a Sit-Com. It's also addictive. I really like it so far.

I have a whole new level of appreciation for comic book characters who worry about not being able to deal with rogue super heroes.

    EDIT: Finished Season 1. WOW!!!!
