Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. viewers, what do you think about the use of almost entirely non-comics characters in the show? I'm interested to see if they incorporate Daisy Johnson or Mac MacKenzie or Abigail Brand.

I didn't think much of the SHIELD show.
Like 'Sleepy Hollow,' I'll give another viewing or two to see if it gets better, but it was kind of dull.

It does have Ming Na, which is nice.

Watched The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife last night. Liked both of them, especially The Goldbergs. The DVRs will be pretty full this season, it seems. Guess I'll put off exercising until about May.

This Fall is one of the lighter ones in a while for me. Shows I keep up with weekly are Boardwalk Empire, Homeland, and Parks & Rec. There's a British comedy called Fresh Meat that should be starting up at some point as well. I wait on any new shows, especially dramas, until the first season is done and I hear if it's worth it.

I'm using this Fall to catch up on a bunch of shows. Shows I'm in various stages of watching are Battlestar Gallactica, The IT Crowd, Wallander, and Shameless. I just started Shameless last night and really enjoyed the pilot.

Speaking of DVRs being full, the wife is recording the entire, 60+ hours of the AMC Breaking Bad Marathon; I've had to sacrifice 50 hours of Tour de France recordings. It must be love.

Netflix costs $8 a month (and is free for the first one, so you could just do that).

Apparently Agents of Shield got the ratings they wanted, but it still finished third for the night behind NCIS and The Voice.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is interesting. I think it's good enough to stick around. Samberg is very good. Terry Crews is great and Andre Braugher is great (duh), but the rest of the cast is dreadful.

I really wanted to like "Back in the Game" but I just don't see it doing very well...

Agent of SHIELD is pure counterprogramming by ABC to try and attract male viewers, especially younger ones while writing off the senior citizens who watch NCIS and the mostly women who watch the Voice. Young male viewers earn an advertising rate premium -- ask the NFL.
