Enjoyed the first four seasons but couldn't get into the fifth, so I stopped watching. YMMV.

Well, I'm about to start season five, so I guess I'll see. I've been very taken with the writing and plotting, callbacks a couple of seasons later to things that I didn't understand before, the acting and characterizations, the plot twists. Throw in the usual BBC quality of production, sets and set design, and understanding of England's class system. Extremely solid, particularly for what is in it's essence "just another mob story". Very different approach.

Although the latest (fourth) episode seemed like one to drive character building and wasn't my favorite, Peacemaker is very good.

The jail scene was funny. The parking lot fight was pretty good, too, especially when you realize the genre they were alluding to with it.

Just finished second season of "Cheer." They had a lot to work with and did it well.

It's really the story of two seasons this time, with a couple of twists (pun not intended). They documented two schools this time, Navarro and rival Trinity Valley, which is 30 or so miles away and the perennial runner-up. Elements include Navarro dealing with its celebrity status after Season One, including guest shots on Ellen and Today and the coach appearing on "Dancing with the Stars." Also, one of the Navarro male cheerleaders is jailed on kiddt=y porn charges (an episode was devoted to this story). Then, covid hits just days before Daytona and all is off.

The last few episodes picks up in fall 2020 with the runup to Daytona 2021 and some more drama with Navarro. And a bit of a surprise at the end. But, no spoilers.

I thought it was pretty good overall, and does a good job of maintaining drama and interest throughout. However, there is one aspect they don't tell you throughout:
Navarro and Trinity Valley are the only teams in their division.

Didn't take long for the first "Oh, fuck!" scene of the season, either.

So who shows up on "NCIS Hawaii" last night? Well, it's Junior from "Hawaii 5-0." He's not playing the same role -- the well-spoken, respectful, Navy SEAL. He's cast in a completely different role as David Sola -- a spy who has a weird accent, smart-ass risk-taker. They even had a line in the episode about his "great accent." He seemed to be mumbling and hard to understand.
Oh well, not enough Hawaiian actors, apparently.

Reminds me of Katrina Law, who was on "Hawaii 5-0" then landed on "NCIS" in a completely different role.

Turnabout is fair play. Vannessa Lachey appeared in the first season of H50 as a supposed kidnap victim who was actually in cahoots with the ringleader of a gang that hijacked a student bus (The ringleader was played by Nick Lachey).
