Dax is terrific on this show, and he's married to the greatest woman in the world. I'm pretty convinced Punk'd was just a phase.

And yes, Parenthood gets slept on for no good reason. I don't understand it. Did NBC fuck it over? There were a lot of promotions. Craig T. Nelson, Peter Krause, Lauren Graham and Bonnie Bedelia all were known, respected and liked before the show started. Half the cast from the latter years of Friday Night Lights is on the show. Jason Katims has had plenty of success. Ron Howard was the official creator.

WHY DON'T YOU PEOPLE WATCH PARENTHOOD?!

I'm glad it's lasted this long, but it's the type of show that legitimately could continue on for another 20 years if they wanted it to. It's so sustainable. Maybe the lack of stakes caused it to falter.

I'm pretty sure Punk'd was just a job for a talented, but unknown guy who needed work. Same for B.J. Novak, Kaitlin Olson and some might argue Whitney Cummings.

He is married to the greatest woman in the world ... and pulled her into a horrendous car-chase movie. ;)

I agree with all of that.

That said, while we're an episode behind on the DVR, if they make Joel out to be a bad guy I might quit watching the show completely.

And I wonder how different (if at all) the show might be if Maura Tierney hadn't gotten cancer and Lauren Graham wasn't brought in as her replacement.

Intriguing question I hadn't thought about for a while, Inky. I've got to think the character would have gone in some different directions with Tierney.

I've thought about that, too. Tierney is excellent. But Lauren Graham is just so perfect in that role. I think it would have a different feel, but it would still be an excellent show.

And I would have added Monica Potter to Vers's list of actors already respected before this show.

Monica Potter should have won something for how she handled last season's story arc.

EDIT: Checked, and she did indeed. Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Drama Supporting Actress (2013).

Upon IMDB check, Monica Potter was bigger than I realized.

I really dislike Lauren Graham. I think I would much prefer Sarah if she was any other actress.

And, at times, much hotter than I realize. Same for Julia.

I'm with OT on Graham being perfect for the role. But I've been a sucker for Tierney since NewsRadio, so I was interested in Parenthood once I saw her name attached. Glad I stuck around after she walked away.

Monica Potter and Erika Christensen are hot as hell on Parenthood.

I see Monica Potter and always think, "I need to watch 'Con Air' again." I see Erika Christensen and always think, "Duh huh huh yer purdy der huh huh."
