Being a sci-fi fan and seeing J.J. Abrams attached to it, I gave Almost Human a shot tonight. Some futuristic cliches involved, but I liked it enough to watch for another week. (Well, another day. Second episode is tomorrow night).

The thing about The Crazy Ones that endears it to me is you get the sense (especially from the bloopers) that the core cast is really enjoying themselves and they really like working together.

Yes, I had nine in my head for some reason. But we can still be best friends, Wenders.

I was surprised they brought it back, and I was suprised how funny the first few episodes were.
    But it has deteriorated rapidly.

Anybody read anywhere why Nick has been MIA on CSI?

Lots of stunt-casting in the finale with Sacha Baron Cohen and Lindsay Lohan among the people brought in the prop it up. They added nothing. And it was mostly bizarre and didn't make any sense. If you must watch this show, take in the first season and leave it at that.

I never watched it. But I did watch a few of the highlight clips they have on Grantland today, and there was some funny shit there. Especially when Will Ferrell and Craig Robinson stopped in.

And anything that brings a little bit o' Katy Mixon is A-OK with me. (Did you know she's engaged to Paula Deen's son? Funny.)

Anybody else check out Almost Human?

I watched the premiere last night and the second episode tonight. (That two-night premiere thing was just stupid. It was two separate episodes.)

Heavy on the cliches, but I kind of like it so far. It certainly included one of the oddest exchanges you will ever hear a police officer have with his partner, human or otherwise.

Got a kick out of KPs future life, and I got a kick that his grown son was Eric Northman.
Overall, though, not a good season.

A friend insisted I watch Eastbound and Down after the first season. I thought it was incredibly stupid from the get-go. And I've had a hard time taking Danny McBride serious in anything else since -- even his serious appearance in Up In The Air.

I found this review of the finale spot on.

Stunning turn of events on Person of Interest tonight. Never saw it coming. And I'm quite saddened by it.
