Just finished up with this week's Masters of Sex on the DVR .... if you're not watching, you're missing out. That was one of the best hours of television I've watched in a long time. Man, that show got very good, very fast.

Yeah. We enjoy that show. It's still a distance fourth on Sunday nights behind The Good Wife, The Walking Dead, and Homeland, but we definitely get around to it before a new episode airs.

I'm 7 minutes into the premier of Kirstie and I've laughed more than any other sitcom I've seen of late other than Modern Family.

Add:Watched the two-episode premiere and really laughed quite a few times. It's clear to me that Alley, Perlman and Richards really know what the hell they're doing when it comes to doing a sitcom. The writing was good, and even when the joke was obvious, they could really pull it off. I really laughed out loud a few times.

Alley can really pull off the physical humor, too. There were moments where she reminded me of Lucille Ball and some of her classic bits.

    Not a shock.
Watching Sound of Music on the DVR. Figure with the numbers NBC got we can look forward to another live musical next year. You figure they'll sink $9 mil into a show that gets yanked in less than a month - may as well do something like this.
Anything Goes would be great, I'd settle for Annie Get Your Gun.

I rather like the idea of getting live Broadway on TV here and there. It would be a nice option.

Great Performances has a run a few in the last couple of months. Oklahoma from the late '90s with Hugh Jackman and Company from a few years back with Neil Patrick Harris and Steven Colbert.

Guys and Dolls or West Side Story would be good as well.

I feel like after Mad Men, I've reached a good spot to stop watching TV dramas. It's a good station to exit. The Sopranos, Deadwood, Friday Night Lights, The Wire, The Shield, Breaking Bad, Mad Men. It's a great run, but I think I can do without it from here on out. It feels like there's an opening for films to again capture my attention.
