Hey! As an 11-year-old, the death of Superman up-ended my world. I still have all those issues, including the return issue with the holographic cover, so neener neener neener!!!

  2. Three episodes into Sons of Anarchy ...
Not really digging it. What am I missing?

Finally worked my way through all five seasons of "Friday Night Lights" on Netflix.

I enjoyed it a lot more once I decided to stop paying attention to the implausibility of the football stuff (how bad a coach is Eric Taylor if they rally from three touchdowns down in EVERY game?!?!?) and the floating time line (Tim Riggins, Lila Garrity and Jason Street are all seniors in Season 1, but Lila and Tim magically becomes juniors in Season 2).

Ha. I was in college for that storyline, but I do have the Death of Superman issue and some of the other books, including the issue where he returns.

That kind of death was a big deal back then. Now it has happened far too many times.

One of the biggest shows on TV might be coming to a premature end.

Premature? I would call this show's cancellation, (if it comes as a result of this) overdue.

Phil said a few months ago that his appareances would be coming to an end regardless. I think this coming season was to be his last on the show.

I hope the show continues. It's one of my favorites.

Yeah, I wanted to hate it so much (and only started watching because my girlfriend does), but it's hilarious. It's so obviously scripted, but it's still really funny.

They've admitted that most of the scenarios are scripted. I do think, though, that once the "situation" is agreed upon, their reactions while playing it out are genuine.

Jim Norton had a great rant about the Phil suspension on Twitter.

It's been funny to watch the overwrought reaction to this suspension. The next season is already finished. They won't be filming again for months. This is like the NFL suspending a player during the offseason.

So, has anyone checked out "Alpha House." It's the sitcom on Amazon instant streaming that was produced by Garry Trudeau during his long sabbatical from "Doonesbury."

It's about four senators sharing a house in DC and their trials and tribulations. John Goodman, Wanda Sykes and Mark Consuelos (Kelly Ripa's husband) are among the known names, but a good overall cast and great writing. And there's a terrific cameo in the opening scene of the pilot.

I was inspired to post about it because I just finished the seventh episode "Prayer Brunch," which is easily the funniest of the series so far.
