I don't know what is worse watching "Duck Dynasty" to "stick it" to the politically correct "elites." Or watching because you actually enjoy the show.

Can I get some advice? I don't have a TV, and watch online not so often, one show at a time. Just finished the West Wing & got current with Mad Men. I liked the Sorkin stuff better - don't really care about the Mad Men characters, but appreciate that it's good. What's best out there? Not interested in the Sopranos. Breaking Bad? Homeland? The Wire? It would help if it's streamed by Netflix.

I watched the first three episodes because they were free online. I like the premise very much, and enjoyed the episodes, but I don't think I'd pay to continue watching the series. That said, I like House of Cards a lot too but if I wasn't snaking my mom's Netflix, I'm not sure I'd watch next season.

I've heard good things about all three shows you listed, though I've never seen any of them. Personally, I'd start with The Wire, just based on the enthusiasm from some people I know.

I didn't think I'd like it, but my wife and I fell in love with Sons of Anarchy. First 5 seasons are on Netflix.

Most of Breaking Bad is on Netflix streaming so I would recommend starting with that. The Wire is not on streaming, at least not last time I checked. Either way, do both Breaking Bad and The Wire before you even consider getting into Homeland.

One fun thing about Netflix is its many short-run shows. Firefly, Freaks and Geeks, Terriers and My So-Called Life are outstanding single-season dramas. Twin Peaks lasted two, but the first is short.

HBO has pulled all its stuff off Netflix and put it on its own streaming website, HBOGo.com. It's free if you're a subscriber. Not sure if you can subscribe to only HBOGo.

I like this show a lot. Free for Amazon Prime members.

The AV Club named Enlightened the best show of 2013, and I don't know anyone who watches it. Anyone here?

Starting the British crime drama "Broadchurch" and loving it so far. I've read that FOX is doing a US adaptation for this fall with the same lead, David Tennant.

He's playing an American in the remake IIRC. Much prefer him as a Scotsman. :)
