I've never heard him do an American accent. I just hope FOX doesn't re-write the part so that he's a Scotsman in the US and make it a zany fish-out-of-water comedy that still revolves around the brutal murder of a kid. Might be awkward in tone.

I'm in London for the holidays and right now I'm watching live on BBC2, Idris Elba - King of Speed.

IJAG eat your heart out. ;D

    Man, a shout-out in a newb's "first" post? I'm honored.

Also, that man. Jesus, that man.

Not really a newb. Been here since 2003. Just haven't posted for over 6 months and when I decided to return found I'd forgotten my password and the e-mail address I used to sign-up here is long gone. So I had to sign up again under a new username. So no, I'm not going to fetch you a beer.

P.S. Part two of Ibris Elba - King of Speed is airing tomorrow night on BBC2 here in the UK.

I assumed you weren't a newb, hence the "first" post. Also, your knowledge of my admiration lust for Idris.

If they stick with the Hardy is on the run from his problems and some botched case in another zip code idea, maybe that botch was in the UK? Could work.

Sure, it could work. I've read that Jacki Weaver and Nick Nolte have joined the show. It's looking good on paper.

I really don't listen to him as much as watch him move.

The Kennedy Center Honors is always interesting (besides the obligatory shots of Sam Waterston, Julie Chen and Les Moonves in the audience). The Herbie Hancock tribute was probably the best, of course when you can throw Josh Redman, John DeJohnette, Chic Corea, Snoop Dogg and Mixmaster Mike from the Beastie Boys in a tribute and it all makes perfect sense - you know you've got something.

Joel's presence in that group of five probably doubled the TV numbers.

Treme ended Sunday. I'm sad. It wasn't an incredibly fast show. Not a lot happened. But as a slice of life type of show, it worked beautifully. I loved every damn one of those characters, and I'm going to miss spending time listening to random New Orleans music or a Davis McAlary rant.

Sherlock came back today with a solid episode. The acting and dialogue were fantastic as always. My only issue was Moffat being too cute/clever for his own good. There were a couple scenes where he was basically directly talking to the Internet Sherlock fandom. They should have just changed Anderson's name to Tumblr.

It does suck that this season will be done in a week and a half.
