Spurs won Game 1 here in the Alamo City this weekend and MSU won the SEC Conference baseball tourney.
Pretty nice birthday for this Gemini, who turned 48 on Friday. :)

Did you refer to her as a "kid" in your next story and harp on her "inexperience?"

You know what? I'd settle for that just once. Despite turning 30 this coming December (Pearl Harbor Day -- One disaster after another as my Grandma put it when I was born), I still look early 20s. Damn baby face. I still get ID'd every time I turn around. Had one liquor store checkout guy tell me I looked 21 or 22 about a month ago. I also get the feeling when I meet a source in person for the first time they think I'm just out of college when I am just about finished my 10th year in the business -- graduated high school at 17, two year community college J-school, got my first job at a paper at 19.

I get the standard, one day you'll take it as a compliment line, but it isn't that day, especially when you are looking for respect from the people you are interviewing -- the respect does come, but rarely in that first impression in a face-to-face meeting.

People call me Mr. Myers or "Sir" and I still turn around looking for my dad, even though I'm almost 40.

When I turned 30 and 40, those days were just like any other; no big deal at all. When I turned 50 it was like, 'Holy *&#()^!, I've got a ton of stuff to do and not much time.'

I wish that to be the case. A good time was had by none.

I'm sure the parents who were unhappy with her one-win season would have been pleased to see me harp on her inexperience. :)

I've had gray hairs since I was 15, and my goatee is half white. At least I'm not going bald like my brother, though.

I do that too, though I've been looking for my dad for 38 years now.
