Don't think he was bleeding out. It was a bite, but it was in a spot that even if they wanted to, they couldn't just cut it out of him.

I think he died over the span of a few days. He was in the RV for at least two days if I remember correctly.

Jim's problem was he got bit during the attack and didn't tell anyone until the next afternoon when they were clearing bodies. By the time they noticed, the fever had spread and he was f-ed.

They thought a bite was the end-all, be-all at that point, as well. Even if they had caught it right away, it would've been a moot point.

I would like an explanation, somewhere, of how everyone is already infected but a bite manages to speed up the process for the living. I don't think we'll get it, either in the show or the comic, but it's an interesting question.

Kirkman has been pretty honest about the little questions: You won't get answers to questions like that because it has nothing to do with the story.

In World War Z zombieworld, zombieism virus and the fatal infection caused by bites are two different medical issues. I have no idea if the show is going for something similar.

I get his argument there, and I like it. We don't know what happened. We don't have to. We're in the now. The people I've tried to get into the series seem to balk at that concept sometimes, though. I always tell them, once you're deep into it, you mostly forget about those questions.

One more example of why people on the other thread should stop worrying about spoilers from the comic, though in both cases, Lori's final fate was brutal even for Walking Dead.

Well, they have deviated a shit ton from it but it still needs to stay off of that thread. I mean, I know how the comic goes but there are some things that shouldn't be discussed over there until a certain character has cast off their mortal coil.

Oh, I'm very careful not to discuss the comic there. Hell, I even avoided mentioning how different Lori's fate was. Just saying some people overreact to it and there are enough differences that people should stop getting so upset if they hear about what happened in the comic.

So for those of us over here, which do you prefer: Lori's TV death or her comic death? I lean toward the TV because it adds the element of Carl having to put a bullet in her head. I felt that they had copped out with him not killing Shane like he did in the comics, but this was an even more dramatic, tragic moment than killing Shane. But the comic still had the fact that Lori and the baby were both killed. Killing the baby was ballsy.

Fell way behind and have never seen the show. But having gone to middle and high school in Cynthiana, I find it really cool that someone from there has achieved this level of success.

I'll have to wait to get it all on DVD and catch up one day.

The comic takes great pains to show that everything is futile and every glimmer of hope will be snuffed out. Keeping the baby alive makes me wonder if the show might be aiming a tiny bit more optimistic.
