I have a hard time reading the other thread now...people are putting way too much into little things. Kirkman is not like that and has tried to stay away from the little things. I don't see the show going that route either.
I think some people want this to be the next LOST and everything has be a red herring or have meaning.
Sometimes a cup of tea is just a cup of tea (or...an inside joke as we found out on Talking Dead).

OK, so on to the question at hand: I still think the comic death was better...mainly because the baby bit it also.
I can't see them getting that one (having someone kill an infant, although indirectly as the case was with Lilly shooting Lori) past censors, even for cable TV.
Shooting a zombie child (twice now actually) was pretty much the line methinks....but a baby? Eh, that's a toughie.
I will say I never thought they would have the baby be stillborn and come back as a zombie...too crazy.
But I will admit I did cringe when Maggie gutted Lori on TV.
This will make Carl delve into a darker part I bet.

I wonder if they will bring back Lori via the phone...that was a strange part of Rick's life for a while.

You haven't seen Game of Thrones, have you?

I had to look it up on google just to know what you are talking about...so, nope.
And even after a curious glance....looks...complicated.

The baby being born a zombie has been done, so that was probably another reason not to do it. It was in the Dawn of the Dead remake.

Oh, that's right...that actually wasn't too bad of a flick.

I've never been a huge fan of horror movies, but I saw that one because my nephew needed an adult to take him and I liked it. We ended up seeing an early show on a weekday so we were the only people in the theater, which definitely enhanced the creepiness of the viewing experience right up until the moment a theater employee started cleaning up during the credits.

I've mentioned this before, but that may have been the first movie I'd seen with important scenes after the credits. A friend of mine saw the movie, but left as soon as the credits started. I told her she had to watch it again because the real end of the movie happened after she left. It really is a very different movie without those added scenes.

I forgot about Rick talking to Lori through the phone. Man I hope they keep that imagine he people who haven't read the comics when a phone rings and Rick answers it and hears her.

And my son and I both freaked when Maggie cut Lori. Seeing blood from a guy getting bit does nothing, but show someone get cut open with no anesthesia was nuts.

I think that was the first zombie movie I saw actually...I followed that up with 28 Days Later and then the Living Dead shows along with Vincent Price's The Last Man on Earth.

So how did everyone come across the comic series? I didn't start reading them until I found out the show was going to be made. My Comic-Con geek friends were gushing on facebook about it, so I checked it out.
I read every issue in a weekend and have been reading the monthly release since Oct. 2010.

I started reading right after I heard about the series. Thank god for the public library. Checked out the collections until I got to the last one they had, then got back issues until I was caught up. Reading every month since.

The phone call is from the comics, correct? I've read off and on over the years. What was it in the comics?

It's all in Rick's head. It's Lori...they mesh out their problems in his head...which is done physically through the phone.
It will be interesting how long they will go on with it on the show. It lasted quite a while in the comic. I know Rick carried the phone with him after the attack on the prison.

Wow! So much comic lore in this episode!

    Zombie Penny!
    Zombie fight pit!
    The phone!

The addition of Meryl makes the show so much fun. I liked how they have made him such a lackey to the Gov.

Ahhh, so much to love about this show right now. Yeah, I kinda gotta a nerd boner over this week's episode!

A few predictions, since I got the phone as a cliffhanger right (of course, that was easy to see coming):

    1) Carol is actually dead. She'll show up as a zombie in one of the last couple of episodes before the Christmas hiatus, and Daryl will put a bolt through her head.

    2) The cliffhanger for the Christmas hiatus will involve Merle meeting back up with original group, just to screw with Daryl more. He'll be reeling from Carol's death, then his "dead" brother shows up out of nowhere. I'm betting this will end up being where the Governor's people discover the prison, too.
