Big shocker with the loss of Andrea, especially since her and Rick get so close in the comic. Will be interesting to see if they give Rick a love interest if they ever get to the Alexandria Safe Zone in the TV series.
So, eventually they will kill The Gov., but do you think they can pull off Neegan and his bat Lucille on TV?

I'm betting Rick hooks up with the brunette from Woodbury.

As for Negan, I don't know if we'll ever see him. You gotta figure the Governor makes it through at least one more season. Negan maybe shows up sometime in the season after that, but it'd be tough to be as brutal as he is in the comics.

Of course, the Governor's more brutal in the comics, and they did a good job with him. I think when/if we see Negan, it'll be similar -- a less gory, still psycho version of the character.

Wow, just finished Issue 112. Negan is topping The Gov. as best villian of the series. He is just so much more out there and arrogant.

Yeah, I've been loving how things are going with him. HATED when they killed Glenn, but it works for the character and story.

I posted a link about the latest webisodes on the TV thread...but I wanted to add one more thing to my list of talking points here:

Could Paul from that be "Jesus" in the comics? I doubt it...but using that name could be something...but probably just a red herring.

    Hi folks!

Now that I've caught up on the show (didn't start watching until this year), I thought about reading the graphic novels. My local library has the collected volumes, so it's not like I have a big purchasing decision. But how close are the comics to the show? And would someone like me like it? By that I mean: what appeals to me about the show are not the zombies. I don't give a shit. I really like some of character interactions and concepts and questions forced by an end-of-civilization scenario. I'm one of the weird people who enjoyed season two of the show and didn't bitch that it was slow and boring because there wasn't a zombie attack every five minutes.

    Any help? Much thanks.

The show diverges from the comics quite a bit, but it's great stuff. The show and comic are a lot alike in that zombies were a big part of both early on, but as things progress it became more and more about human interaction in the new world. It's one of my favorite comics out there right now. If recommend giving it a try to see if you like it. It definitely doesn't pull any punches where the show has at times. But be prepared to completely hate Robert Kirkman at times.

    2nd on JRoyal's post.

The first book is like the first show, and then it veers a tad, and a tad more and a tad more til you have 2 completely different worlds that happen to have the same people in it.
The comic is dark, but it's full of characters and stories. You can get through each book in 10 minutes or so, so I suggest you read the first dozen or so and see what you think. They are up to issue 115 now, so you'll catch up in now time! :)

    Just had a thought:

What if Carol gets nabbed by the Governor and we get her in the Tyreese role from the comics in front of the prison? The new showrunner has said he wants to bring some scenes from the comic to the show, and they already have translated one or two in different ways (Tyreese flipping out and killing a ton of zombies after he was swarmed for one). I could see them showing her in his clutches for a while, then have him take her to the prison. Question is if they'd have the balls to behead her.

    Hmmmm, I like your thinking.
I honestly think she may become a part of the new show they are spinning off...but that would be awesome.
Something has to get them back on the road to run into Eugene and Co. ...and that would be a good reason.

Wow, we have been remise to reflect in the last year.

I'll just skip ahead to the last episode and geek out over the exact look at Issue 53 vs. the end of the last ep:
