Frank Sobotka was a more mature version and much less alcoholic version of Paulie Pennino.

I read a fan writeup a while ago about the origins of The Greek. The conclusion was that he was Turkish, I believe?

I think if S2 came out as S1 today, it would be seen as a fantastic television show. It was just tonally very different from S1 - at first. I do always chuckle at the fact that it's a stupid, petty squabble between Frank Sobotka and Valcheck that even gets the ball rolling on the police investigation.

Wasn’t even Frank’s fault. He didn’t know about Valchek’s window. And Valchek was a real son of a bitch about it.

I’m rewatching season 2 right now. It’s great, but the Ziggy character goes well past cartoonish.

Season two was awesome, but Ziggy did suck.
He was Game of Thrones' Bran. Get rid of him, and it's much better.

I don't think Ziggy sucked I think his character grated nerves which means the actor did his job.

The only thing good about Ziggy was he brought a dozen eggs to a Baltimore Breakfast, which I have done more than once.

I think that's a good distinction, one that a lot of people fail to make in general. I think the actor went a little too far. The bumbling, criminal who is high over his head is a trope by now.

I'm here to say, everyone, EVERYONE, in my real orbit and in my media orbit says I need to watch this show. I've tried 3/4 to the first episode and lose interest. Please, what am I missing here?

Apparently the cast all watched the first episode and thought it was dead in the water.

I’m in a rewatch, season 3 and loving it.
