Is he going to be out there dancing with Roy Simmons and Esera Tuaolo?

Is this paving the way for the return of Prince and the phallic guitar?

Maybe FOX can put Seacrest out there and then they just send out the QBs to throw a few practice passes, let the kickers try some long FGs, and let some defenders run a 40-yard dash, then the public calls in to vote on the winner -- all the way to the Super Bowl.

I would pay good money to see the "Ryan Seacrest Throw Like a Girl Quarterback Challenge"

Seacrest vs. Richard Simmons vs. Clay Aiken vs. Jake Gyllenhaal.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

    Announced on imdb...

    Seacrest To "Host" Super Bowl

Apparently, Fox is planning to turn up the entertainment content of the Super Bowl next February 3. The network announced today (Thursday) that Ryan Seacrest, host of American Idol, will emcee the halftime show and conduct interviews with celebrities arriving at the Glendale, AZ site of the game. Neither the network nor Fox has announced other talent for the halftime show. Today's (Thursday) Daily Variety observed that naming a red-carpet host is a first for a Super Bowl. The trade paper suggested that it was aimed at "trying to increase entertainment quotient to bring in non-football fans and increase already massive viewership."

Oh god, keep him far away from the Super Bowl. Fox really knows how to ruin something don't they. If CTV decides to use Ben Mulroney like that for their Super Bowl coverage, then the sports world in North America is in serious trouble   . (Mulroney is the host of ETALK and Canadian Idol on CTV)

Speaking of Jake Gyllenhaal, is it just me or shouldn't he and Clive Owen do a movie together? They would make the great brother tandem or father/son combo.

Yeah, no kidding. The people on that list WISH they could throw like a girl.

Also, having Seacrest there will be nothing short of awesome.

A year or so ago Esquire did a piece on Seacrest in which they painted him as the antichrist bent on taking over everything media. Stern's claim to "King of all Media" is in serious jeopardy. Actually, I'd rather see Stern on a football pregame show than Seacrest, but then, I don't watch pregame shows either.
