They may take our jobs, but they'll never take... our Hooters!

I've been meaning to check that place out. There are a couple relatively close to where I live.

TK kicks butt on Hooters. Food is much better and there's lots of cleavage.

I'll be in NJ-NY in a few weeks, and there's a Tilted Kilt just north of Baltimore. Might just stop for lunch on my way back.

Between the waitresses and the patrons, going to a Hooters is depressing.

I was a sportswriter when Hooters first popped up across the southeast. It's hard to convey how novel Hooters was; guys my age had never dreamed there could be a place like that that didn't involve a bathroom attendant.

The Hooters in my town is pretty tame, which is shocking given the military presence. I'll stop in for dinner or to watch a UFC PPV once every few months. The waitresses are nice, the service is good, the crowd doesn't get too out of hand. Not depressing at all.

It's had that family restaurant label as far back as I can remember up here. My grandfather used it as his excuse to take the family there whenever possible, this is when I was 10 or under and my sister and cousins were even younger, so going back at least 20 years.

Always thought the grouper sandwich was pretty good, during Lent, when I actually was much more of a practicing Catholic.

I remember when Hooters first opened in West Des Moines, Iowa, in the early 1990s. It was a huge deal in the state. There were lots of protests, and I seem to remember The Des Moines Register running a big photo on the front of either a protest or a line of women waiting to apply for jobs. There might have been two photos in separate issues.
I didn't live in the city then, but my former college roommate did and he took me there a few times. The food was good and the ambiance was enjoyable. I live three states away now and haven't been to a Hooters in 20 years.

Tilted Kilt makes me feel dirty. The one near me is like Hooters, except staffed by what appear to be nothing but 16-18-year-olds. I feel like I might get arrested if I look up from the menu. The food was good the one time I went, but I won't be returning. At least at Hooters, I'm confident the waitresses are college aged.

There are a few Hooters scattered around the Toronto area but they haven't gained much traction up here. The one near me closed after a couple of years. Only went a couple of times but thought the food was lousy and overpriced, the service was pushy ("Want to by a calendar that's already eight months old?"), you were fucked if you drank something other than beer or wine and the regulars in there were pathetic.

There are a few Tilted Kilts popping up in the downtown Toronto area, haven't been to one yet.
