Oh, god. Band parents, convinced that their kids WORK JUST AS HARD AS THE FOOTBALL PLAYERS so the halftime show is THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE NIGHT.

Once had a BP sidle up to me and ask "Why aren't halftime shows mentioned in the paper?" Wanted to reply "Because no one gives a shit," but was more diplomatic.

Once, covering preps, I didn't have a seat in the box because the school had sold the seats as a "luxury box" to some local politician who invited like five or six people to join him. Undoubtedly, it was one of those schools that previously complained about lack of coverage. I squeezed my way in, though.

You forgot to mention, "the editors who actually give the into those demands."

Things that bug actual journalists: faux journalists who complain about things they don't understand.

Friends and family that say "have fun" when you're leaving for work, as though you'll just be watching the game and having a few drinks while you're there.

    Two more "bugs:"

Boring "historical" facts: It's the first time Podunk has won two games in a row since 2014.

Let people be their age: it's September and you'll see: Coach Smith, who will be 71 in May...

That always irked me, especially for older folks. You're assuming they'll still be above dirt then.

Those reporters squeezing into a "luxury seat" or pigging at free food really showed the hosts who is the boss.

JV/Freshman football parents who demand to know why your paper only covers varsity football, especially when the JV/freshman football team is having a better year than the varsity team. Even better when said parents start publicly urging other parents to make similar demands.
