No more hunting for a working air pressure machine at a gas station.

Life Pro Tip: Don't overinflate a bicycle tire with one of those gas station machines.

We overinflated a wheelchair tire once. Thankfully it blew just sitting around at home and not out somewhere, but it sounded like a gunshot going off.

I was dumb enough to do it with my head right next to the tire. It's amazing I made it to adulthood, given some of the stupid shit I did as a kid.

Typed in my home and work zip code and got exactly two hits, neither of which is very close to me.
I don't mind paying for the air pump. It just amazes me how every gas station in a 5-mile radius can have pumps that are broken. I've had times -- plural -- where I just need to put a few pounds of air in a tire on a cold morning and it takes going to multiple gas stations to find one that works.

They're always broken. Get the portable model and keep it in your trunk.

Another alternative (and a good workout) is to buy a very good bicycle pump with a built-in gauge. Preferably the stand up pump that you can keep one foot on.

Now, keep in mind that it takes about 100 to 200 pumps to get a 1 psi increase. A lot of effort, but this does work.
