You mean like the reason a newborn fawn died in agony in the forest is because lightning struck from a storm and set the area ablaze? Okay, I guess if you term cause-effect relationship that a reason it's a true statement. Obviously that's not the intended meaning of many speakers.

Getting a shot, watching my son get a shot, watching someone on TV get a shot, scenes on TV or in the movies when people shoot up. I always avert my eyes.

When my son got shots as a child I had to leave the room. I've gone through two major surgeries with no problem whatsoever, but have fainted twice in hospitals while visiting other people. I'm a wuss.

 

People folding paper by running their thumb and forefinger down the crease. Makes me shiver and commit violent acts.

 

Paper that's overly slick looking and yet grainy to the touch.

Strangers who feel compelled to play with my hair when I'm standing in line. Yes, I know! It's curly! It's natural! The ethnicity of my parents is none of your business! Gah!

Mansplaining.

People who over-enunciate when they find out I'm dyslexic. Do they think we're in a comic book and I'm reading everything in bubbles over their heads?

Cleaning out the nibs on my drafting pens.

Looking at my fingers when my blood sugar is running high. ( I have to check it more and look like a junkie with really bad aim.)

People who talk to me in public bathrooms.

People who suck their teeth.

People who make presumptions about my ethnicity and speak Spanish with the belief that I won't understand them.

People who do not love Darren McGavin. Lie down right now. You're soulless and need to be reabsorbed by the earth.

Blood.

Fresh stitches.

Women who don't like other women.

People who don't believe in separation of church and state.

People who don't believe in basic human rights for all.

Dead animals on the side of the road.

People who tried laughing once. They hated it.

Broken bones.
