Things we should do away with

No. No one has debated this point. It is, in fact, so vague as to be inarguable. So, again, care to move forward? Any thoughts on what we were actually discussing?

Fucking hell. I don't know why I'm continuing forward on this fruitless endeavor.

Please explain why you felt the need to point out that English continues to change? It's fucking banal and pointless when you're in a discussion where everyone already knows that.

The change has not happened yet, at least not formally, though conversationally you could make the argument either way.

Should it? Meh. I don't care. I am quite capable of following the rules when necessary. I just don't think it is necessary here. I tend to take a far more relaxed approach to my writing on a message board than I do when I am writing something for publication.

I think it is silly that you and IJAG get caught up in your little grammar Nazi bit around here, but I guess you've gotta do what you've gotta do to get through the day. Personally, the day I start being that careful about posting on a message board is the day I know I'm taking this place far too seriously.

Because some people cling far too tightly to English as it is now, or as they learned it as children. The really funny part was the arguments that some changes would not be logical. Ask anybody who has tried to learn English as a second language if logic applies.

Because you're in love with "Mark" and Secretariat and can't help but show your devotion to them at every opportunity?

Puppy love is so cute. EVentually you'll grow out of it and look back at this stage of your life with some embarrassment.

OMG. I made the first post as a joke to the OP, who is a friend of mine. I have not done the "Grammar Nazi" thing in a while, and that's offensive anyway. No one should throw around the word Nazi.

Or has the meaning of that changed?

Dre is in love with me? I'm flattered, I guess.

You and Dick really enjoy saying this as if it makes any difference to me. I'd apologize for agreeing with other intelligent people who actually know how to have a discussion without using cliches or various grammatical mistakes, but that would be silly.

And sorry secretariat, I didn't want you to find out this way :-\

You either Mark. Ours would have been a great love, but instead I will run away, tears streaming down my face. with.

Are you one of those guy who never realizes when someone has a crush on them?

I used to be like that. You learn to look for certain signals.

Dre is lighting flares. Take some notice of the poor kid's affection.
