If you want to drink at the Blue Goose, you carry cash.

Why would one not carry cash? To have a clear conscience while turning down panhandlers? Because all the food cart vendors have a restraining order against you? As HC said, some places still take only cash. And it's not as if it inconveniences the rest of your wallet

You don't know the first thing about my wallet, so don't go talking shit.

I carry cash on occasion, but never in my wallet. Pants pocket, shirt pocket, sock (if I wear athletic shorts to dinner).

I don't carry cash either. If I have it, I'll spend it. If I have to pull out the credit card, it will make me think more about, do I really need this? and it also prevents me from using vending machines, which is definitely a good thing.

I actually use cash as a way to keep me from spending too much. On Wednesday or Thursday I go to the ATM and take out what I'm fine with spending for the weekend. That helps a lot, especially when out at bars.
