No Michael Anthony = I'm not spending my hard-earned money on this.

Oh, and in re-reading this thread, I realize I was way off on dissing all of the Hagar-era VH output (huh huh...out put). FUCK is a great album. I can't think of a better 1-2 singles punch than Poundcake and Runaround.

Wish I'd have seen VH with Roth back in the day and I'm sorry to say that I only saw the Van Hagar version in the late 1980s.

No, I would not typically base my attendance at a show on the presence of the bassist. But Anthony pounding the Jack bass and pouring Jack on the front row is as much a part of a VH show as any DLR karate kick.

Not touring with Anthony is indicative, to me, of what a cash grab this is and how lazily the band will put this together.
Touring with three-quarters of the band and leaving the bassist at home? That's like writing a really good book, being told you need to tighten up one chapter in the middle and saying ehh, who cares, it's in the middle, no one will notice. Touring without Anthony is cheap, but VH knows the cash registers will ring regardless.

Plus, he's the only sufferable/sympathetic person among the four originals and they're cutting him out...for what? So Wolfgang can tour? Please.

Even though the drummer's dead, there's a certain band featuring Robert Plant and Jimmy Page that would be smart to include John Paul Jones if they ever decide to have a Led Zeppelin reunion tour. Of course, those three and get Jason Bonham on drums in his father's place and I'd be happy with that lineup because it would be as close as possible to the original.

However, Eddie, Alex, DLR and ... Wolfgang? No pressure there on a 16-year-old to perform.

The show I saw with Van Hagar was Monsters of Rock show at L.A. Coliseum back in the late 1980s. They were good, but Scorpions, who came on just before them, kicked the most ass that day. As did Metallica.

Not that Sammy's going to miss out on much .... hell, he just sold 80% of Cabo Wabo Tequila to the Campari people for $80 million. He made a killing and he didn't have to put up with the Van Halens' bullshit --- seems like a fair trade to me.

Glad that you admit your fatal mistake.

Now.....sit back........pop in a little Balance, crank up "Can't stop lovin' you", and have a nice, cool, frosty mug of STFU.

    :)

Van Halen without Michael Anthony is the Eddie Van Halen Band, opening act Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

What a farce. No way my hard earned scratch goes to this.

Psst. Check out my side quote.
Saw VH two years ago with Sammy and Michael. Good, yet a tad unfulfilling.
So, who'll need a walker by the end of the tour first, DLR or Eddie? (Joke I made to an old roomie about Def Leppard being on tour a couple of years ago - Raise your walkers high for Def Leppard!)
