I wasn't responding to your theory of degrees. There are actually legitimate scientific theories that fit into that idea, assuming I understand the Kinsey scale correctly.

My issue with your post was that you compared homosexuality to alcoholism. I made it very clear that it was my issue with your post, but you are too busy whining about being mistreated to try to comprehend that. Keep in mind that I had just posted about a family member of mine who was a gay man. Given those two facts, my response to your ridiculous comparison was tame.

I keep pointing out the ignorance in things you post because you keep posting ignorant things. Alcoholism is a disease. Homosexuality is not. You once defended a family enabling sexual abuse because they believe in G-d the same way you do, but you compare homosexuality to a disease. The problem is with you.

Short version is that 'goodness' evolved with us. Altruism. Virtue.

Behaviors that benefit the group. A group. Your group.

Which behaviors are sometimes in tension - and sometimes in concert - with behaviors benefiting the individual.

There's been a lot of interesting scientific work done in this field over the last half century or so.

As they say, one of these really is not like the others...

Why is that opinion? Christ was radical, by any considered rendering of the evidence. This has been understood for centuries.

Even Douglas Adams recognized Christ was not like the others. Gosh, I miss DNA.

And I feel bad for not having @WriteThinking's back more this past week or so. Sexual orientation is still one of those matters where the church and science diverge, converge, diverge... rinse and repeat. The obvious answer is to treat everyone as you would want to be treated. Jesus makes that pretty clear:

    Matthew 22: 36-40:
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets

There have been studies showing the spectrum of sexuality is a lot wider than we imagine. It's not my place to second-guess God on his creation. I'm happy to be a witness to the elegant mechanics of it all.
