    Not much I can do about the Unification Church and the Moonies. Not much any Christian can do. It's basically a cult.

    But, yep, it's a problem. It's definitely that. Christ is used for all kinds of nasty ideas, including last week at the US Capitol. It grieves me.

    I have a question that's been bothering me lately: why didn't Christ get more time? The Lord knew the work wasn't done.

    Another decade of ministry and the picture would have been so much fuller.

    Some theologians love numbers. 33 might add up to perfection for a few people.

    Given the noise that followed, it's been theorized that Christianity would have been a quaint blip in the Judaic timeline if not for Paul.

    I agree, Paul was a force. He was also rich, had Roman citizenship and had a celerity the older ones didn't.

    He blew into history at the right time and also the wrong time, as his travels got going under the Jew-hating Claudius.

    Well, if not for Jesus. Paul didn't convert himself.

    The realm of King Herod Agrippa as handed to him by his childhood friend Caligula.
    That is a pretty big Jewish kingdom for circa AD 40, folded neatly into the Roman empire.
    But that's not where the front office wanted Paul- they wanted him to go and win on the road, minister to Gentiles.

    That assumes it all gets chronicled and disseminated, etc.

    I was going through my stuff today and located the Gospel of Judas. That one's an amazeballs read - lot of mysticism and the illusionism that dominated extant art of the period.

    Fella at a former stop named his rat Judas and when Judas died he wrote an obit and slipped it into the paper. Good times.

    My mother always said Judas went to heaven. I tend to agree.

    All the world’s a stage,
    And all the men and women merely players;
    They have their exits and their entrances
