    Luke 2:7:7
She gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Luke wasn’t writing contemporaneously with the birth of Jesus. Allegedly, Luke writes after the resurrection.

He uses the term firstborn, a son. Not only son or only child. Luke supplies evidence that Jesus had siblings, definitely a sister based on the reference to ‘a’ son.

Would be interesting to see Jesus' offshoots -- if he was real, and if he had kids who had kids etc etc -- 2,000 years later.

Most historians accept that Jesus, the person, was real. Too much evidence outside of the Bible to ignore.

The Southern Baptist Church was created to help "justify" slavery.

And at a time when church-going across America is in decline, having religious organizations break into smaller groups is really not a great plan. Religious history is filled with new orgs and movements aimed not so much at spreading faith, but at allowing a segment of adherents to continue to live/rule outside Christian teachings, (I'm sure it's true of other faiths as well).

A descendant of Charles Darwin wrote a book about how his family's tree didn't branch enough and were mostly below average. I can't find it on Google and my copy has disappeared or I'd cite it. Scions tend to disappoint.

Did Seder with friends. Went heavy on the maror; sinuses clear for the next month.
