Yeah, I don’t think the team of lawyers who wrote this one up for Tiger would listen to “You need to believe in the power of love, Tiger” as a great counterpoint.

Because there is no sport that coddles sports media quite as well as golf. Tiger has been a cash cow for a generation.

They would if it was coming from Huey Lewis.

Apropos of nothing, "The Power of Love" has a fantastically dirty lyric which, given the wholesomeness of Huey's catalog, might go down as the dirtiest lyric in a no. 1 hit ever:

Tougher than diamonds, rich like cream
Stronger and harder than a bad girl's dream

Eleven-year-old me had no fucking idea!

I've seen Huey Lewis and the News in concert, and they perform a song called "60 Minute Man."
They're not talking about the CBS news program! ;)

60-Minute Man was a big hit for Billy Ward’s Dominoes in 1951. Some credit it as being the first true rock and roll song. That was back when rock ‘n’ roll was a euphemism for sex.

And a such a catchy tune. It's featured in Bull Durham and gets stuck in my head, in a good way, every time I hear it.

This is how I felt when I found out Bryan Adams’ “Summer of 69” wasn’t about the year 1969.

It just occurred to me that AC/DC's "Big Balls" might not be about big, fancy parties.

When that was on the charts, I remember reading a critic bashing the song b/c Bryan would have only been nine*** that summer. Looking back, how dumb/dense was that guy? Most of us here had the excuse of being pre-teens and not yet familiar with the joy of mutual oral satisfaction. Or having not yet at least read about it. Or havin not yet heard about it from his friends who were getting laid. Anyway.

***Bryan Adams is now 63 years old, what the fuck, so for the sake of his back and other limbs he should probably not try 69
