Tiger to skip Grand Slam of Golf

I merely posted the story with the question raised about how Furyk became the automatic backup. That's all. I'm well aware that Tiger skipping an event, especially one that is part of the Silly Season is perfectly fine. As usual, Birdscribe's the one who came through for my question. Perhaps next time I won't start a thread to get this kind of answer.
