That was yesterday's non-news.

Police say the matter is closed, you're aware of that, right? They have no evidence of domestic abuse, no witnesses, no case.

 

So, looks like Tiger did the smart thing by not saying a word. Case closed. Who knows where this would have gone if he would have opened his yapper. Good call, I guess.

 

The police case is the least of his worries.

 

Are you saying that Tiger will be tried in the court of public opinion?

 

Not really.

 

Police could reopen the matter anytime they want. Part of the reason they say the matter is closed is because Tiger has said nothing that would implicate his wife. Who knows what the police would have decided had Tiger talked to them. Maybe they would have decided his wife smacked him with a golf club. Then they are forced to arrest her.

 

Exactly, but do you really think they're going to reopen the case? Um....no. Only reason they would, I suppose, is if Tiger decided all of a sudden he wanted to talk. You think that's happening? Um....no.

 

That's what the Slate article posits, that he's keeping quiet to protect his wife from Florida's spousal-abuse laws.
