    How does that work though?

Letterman's guy is getting prosecuted for asking for hush money. Is the key to have a lawyer handle it for you?

    Seriously, how would this work?

I'm sure US Magazine got a few tips from people who led them to Grubbs. It's also possible that magazines have a file of this stuff but wait until a said celebrity is "in the news."
If you are the other woman in a case like this, you hold on to this stuff like a 401k and wait until the market reaches its peak and be the first to sell. Figure anyone else coming forward with stuff on Tiger just saw their portfolio crash and burn.

The VH1 skank should not have had to ask for hush money. Tiger should have been all over it.

I wish. Just curious. Everyone always says, "she should have had -- insert name here -- pay her to keep quiet."

But obviously, if you're not careful, you could end up in legal jeopardy.

Sure. Tiger could have been proactive.

But if he's been "with" lots of chicks, he might not know which of them has saved texts, emails, or blue dresses.

Would cost a lot of money to call up every chick he's been with and offer her a blank check to be quiet.

You just call up the person who wants it kept quiet and ask their advice on what to do about the fact some magazine is offering $10K that you could really use.

I suspect you have your lawyer approach Tiger's attorney. Say "We've got this voicemail we're going to sell to the highest bidder. US Magazine has offered X, would you like to counter?"

It's not extortion, it's an auction.

what's to say Tiger hasn't already paid her off?

There's nothing to stop her from getting paid twice. What's he going to do? Come out and say her word means nothing because he paid her to shut up and she didn't?

She could say that it's a screen play for a sitcom.

This girl has spilled just about everything. Texts, photos, emails, voicemails. Why would she keep Tiger's payoff to herself?

You can't blow your entire wad all at once.
