I've been reading this book about the psychology of golf -- hey, it's cheaper than another driver or putter, and it's about as likely to make a difference -- and there's this one section that talks about what you're playing for. It focuses on how you frame issues both before, during and after a round, and how such framing shapes your ability to make emotion work for you rather than against you. I wonder if maybe Tiger's dealing with a fundamental shift in what he's playing for, and that, along with the apparent physical issues, is contributing to such a spectacular fall.

Tiger is 14 shots behind Steve Stricker. There's always tomorrow.

We welcome you with open arms into our camp. Our numbers are small, but our conviction is as strong and swift as Elin swinging a 9-iron to the back of a Escalade window.

I think Tiger's days of winning majors are over, especially after that 77.

The first thing he should do; dump Foley and go back to Butch on hands/knees.

Actually the first thing he should do is drop Mark Steinberg, who is the king enabler at this point.

Neither one of those things will ever happen. The first especially.

Tiger will get back together with Elin before he gets back together with Butch.

Just curious, but why? Too much pride on Tiger's part?

    That's one of them.

The second being Butch; I don't know if Butch would take him back. I could actually see Tiger getting back with Haney.

Haney had no choice but to get out of the way. Tiger was ass-deep in alligators, and didn't have a stick to beat them with. The last thing he was going to work on was his golf swing. He was in the middle of a kajillion dollar divorce, sex rehab.........the whole enchilada.

But this Foley experiment has "fail" written all over it. Who else is in the Foley camp.....O'Hair.....Mahan......not exactly holding up trophies week after week.

Why can't Tiger go back to the swing he had when he dominated? Injuries? Why tweak what was working?

Only eight back of Steve Williams.
