    The GOP's struggles are self-inflicted.

    The military's struggles may be GOP-inflicted . . . but it wouldn't come off like that. America simply doesn't want to read "America losing war" on the cover of its newsmagazines.

    That being said, there have been some covers that have gotten the point across without a headline blaring "We're losing, dammit!": The one on injured soldiers a couple of weeks ago, and the one on letters from sodiers who died this past week.

    the redesign (of the print edition) doesn't do much for me. i understand the whole idea behind redesigning but it looks like McTime now...
