It's not like we're all made of money today. I double the tax and round up a dollar when we go out, and tip a buck at the deli I like.

At the bar, I tip a dollar/drink or five bucks at the end of the night.

Is it okay for writers to take a tip? Say, $50 for a nice feature on your daughter?

Ethically, teachers cannot take cash tips as well, even at the end of the school year. The moeny will go into the division's general fund.

Just bring all of your financial aid and blow it on someone named Brandine.

I refuse to tip at Starbucks or Dunkin Doughnuts on principle. I feel like they are asking me to compensate for their under paying of their employees. I would bet that the tip jar plays on the insecurities of many. You need to have the confidence to walk away. Easiest way out is to pay by gift card.

In NYC Starbucks has raised the cost of a tall coffee to $2.05 up from $1.93. I am convinced that part of reason for price increase was to increase the change flowing into tip jar.

I've never left anything in the tip jar. If you have to have a tip jar, then you shouldn't be tipped.

Does anyone remember the Seinfeld episode with the calzones? Why was there a tip jar at the restaurant?

I consider the tip jar a public service so I don't have to carry around the change.

When I'm queen, there will be no change. Maybe some quarters, I haven't decided. But the economy will be based on even dollars. Change serves no purpose except to slow down TSA lines. I'm sure I'm right about this.

Oh, come on...with no tip jars you wouldn't get the obligatory "Tipping is not a city in China" quote written on the jar!

I will admit though...the cuter (I don't call underage girls hot...even if they are) a girl is that works at the local ice cream shop, the bigger tip that goes into that jar that says "Kaylee's college fund."

At least there, I assume they actually ARE working toward a degree.
