When Rhoden apologizes for keeping whites out of all of the good defensive back and tailback jobs in the NFL, then I will apologize that there aren't many black beat writers and columnists...

I mean, what a complete idiot...

I'd suggest that you STFU and get us a beer, but you probably wouldn't get it.

Sure. Let me get my freulein beergarden outfit and stilletos and serve up a round for all the big strong, hardworking men in the pressbox. Oh, did you drop your pen? Let me get that...

Good. When you're done, clean up a little bit around here. It's dusty.

I see how much more comfortable you are when we're following your rules, Mr. Glass.

Look. You don't know me. At all. It's a freaking message board. Don't make an idiot of yourself by associating me with your hang-ups.

    Great point.

    But following that same logic...

What would you say if a bunch of black men started whining that black men can't get a defensive back job in the NFL?

    You'd find it patently ridiculous.

    Then let's try another one.

Anyone want to give me a profile on these minority/female candidates who can't seem to find a job in sports departments?

Did they start out writing sports at the age of 13 or 14, write throughout high school -- sometimes at the expense of their social life -- spend four years at their college paper, have about 500 clips to pick from when they went looking?

Or did they decide they might like to do this during their junior year of college, perhaps thought membership in SPJ or Sigma Delta Chi meant more than working for their college paper, then appeared awfully offended when professional newsrooms weren't beating down their door after college?

I'm prepared for either answer if anybody has it. But I'm willing to bet that the minority/female candidate who took the first route really didn't have the trouble landing in the business.

Do we now have to refer to Shottie as "Mr. Glass."
    I kinda like it.
