Today in cops gone feral

I was just about to post a link. Some very graphic video is available online.
One story says 9 of the 12 cops opened up on the guy. If I'd been caught in the traffic snarl this guy caused, I would have wanted to shoot him myself, but the police reaction is far over the top.
You can see in the video guys with pistols, shotguns, and ARs. The guy did make an abrupt move with a hand that wasn't clearly visible, so he wasn't without fault, but surely this situation could have been avoided long before it got to that point.

 

Shoot first, and don’t ask questions later.

 

This wasn't a bang-bang (no pun intended) situation. It was a firing squad. They had the guy encircled for a period of time, he was in plain view, and he was well out of arm's reach.
Again, the guy wasn't blameless because of the way he made the quick motion with something in his right hand.
It just looks like it could have been de-escalated before it got to that point.

 

Maybe they should’ve gone to the training seminar with Tomi Lahren and the UFC guy.

 

“Don’t know what it was” — BULLSHIT. They would have cleared any sort of weapon as soon as he was down. “Don’t know” means it wasn’t a weapon or anything else that was a threat.

“Don’t know?” My ass.

 

This isn't police thugism, but it is closely related, since it's about covering up and frustrating critics and nosy reporters.
