Rome Men Set Free After 25 Years in Prison for False Murder Conviction

New evidence included statements from the state’s primary witness that linked the men to Bowling’s death. The witness said that the statements that gave was built on coercion and false evidence. A witness said that their statements testified about another incident and a woman said that she falsely testified that the teens had admitted to the shooting. She later stated that she made the statements after an investigator threatened to have her children taken away. Reports said that prosecutors used false and coerced testimony to build the case against the men.

The judge the ordered their release apologized on behalf of the state. Apologized? For putting innocent people in prison for 25 years? Sorry doesn't cut it.
One of the investigators has since died. The other one seems to be still living. The state owes these guys millions, and the cop needs to be behind bars.
