Is it cultural appropriation when Deadpool uses it in his trailer? He is about as white a property as there is

The thing about hip-hop is that the business model needs white people to culturally appropriate it.

Speaking about it as a business, not an art form, although the business sustains the art form.

It's all very interesting and more complex than the SJ.com model of cultural appropriation discussion:

    "No such thing!"

    "Is so!"

    "Is not!"

So we have a hs girl wearing a dress that we all agree isn't CA. We have a fictional tv show scene where we all agree is CA.

Do we have any real life examples that are perhaps in the grey zone?

And don't include that dope, Rachel Dolezal.

Having an opinion on This is America.

Bonus round: comparing Glover to Kanye West

Can we trade that for when Jay Z used The Police's "Every Breath You Take" as the backing track for one of his biggest hits?

Eminem. The Rolling Stones. Led Zeppelin. Jack White. Stevie Ray Vaughn.

What about "The Wire"? Conceived of and executed by a white cops reporter.

And I won't commit to the position that the girl in the prom dress is not CA. Not quite yet. Weren't they all mimicking some sort of Asian bow of respect in the group photo?

Is it "mimicking" if they mean it as a sign of respect? I don't know that they did, but if they did... It's like a hardcore white mum yogi saying "Namaste."
