Todd Marinovich, the Happy Ending

This is one of my favourite conversations on here ever.

 

Is that what he said? I wasn’t a regular reader of the board back then, but it took me all of five minutes to recognize him when he started posting links to his work. Yeah he wasn’t driving a hummer and he sure as shit never played pro anything

 

You have to remember, though, that there was a group of people who were doing backflips to curry favor with "semi-famous people." It was vomit-inducing at times. I think Boom was fucking with them more than he was fucking with the semi-famous people, who were just collateral damage.

 

21 used to mention covering major events like the World Series, Masters etc. and I kept thinking that none of the people here in those days, who also covered all those high-profile events, had ever run into her at one of them?

Although I will say her fucked-up, foul-mouthed sister is one of my favourite fictional characters of all time.

Boom used to feud with JR, piss him off all the time, get the old man all worked up, and as someone who knows JR, I thought that was awesome.

 

He did it ofthandedly, like check out this new site, which he had launched. And then it all clicked.

 

That's not how I saw it, but either way it was an asshole move.

I always liked Boom, but we have the same sense of humor, in that we like to see people who seem to take themselves too seriously brought down a couple notches.

And, indeed, pot meet kettle at times.
