If the Washington media has been this diligent on Obama statements he
might not have gotten a 2nd term.

I think the statement (with or without the timing discrepancy) is a prime example of how you end a media shit storm.

Listening to the recording of Kaufman on Dan Patrick's show and Kaufman and he said was interviewing a week or two back with Dungy for a story he was working on about Derrick Brooks.

Kaufman said he was a little surprised about how much the story blew up.

Kaufman said he took Dungy's comments as more of a case of Sam "not being worth the trouble" because he's a seventh round pick and a marginal prospect. He did say Dungy's answer surprised him, but he didn't think he was being homophobic.

Yeah, it was well-done. It may be complete bullshit, but it should prevent this from going any further. I don't think it was going to go much further anyway.

I'm glad I put my caveat in there, because his statement also clearly says he gave the interview "several weeks ago." I guess early May is technically "several weeks ago," but I think you might be right.

Here's Kaufman on Dan Patrick's show.

I would be stunned if anyone thinks Kaufman isn't being truthful.

Listen to the Kaufman interview on Patrick. I think Dungy is lying his ass off, but he'll never be called on it.

Were you supposed to be linking to something? If so, it didn't come up.

And I tend to agree with you that Dungy isn't being honest, but he'll get a pass because he's too loved by certain media pundits.

What do you mean "here's Kaufman"?

Is his voice suppose to appear magically on my computer?

And that's two. Seriously, moderators, if Boom is simply allowed to violate the board rule against political discussion and the rest of us are not, just tell us about the double standard and we can all move on. This is the second time he blatantly violated it on this thread alone and as far as I can tell, the only action taken by a moderator was to delete my comment pointing out the first one.
