There's a saying, Fenian: If it's too loud, you're too old.

In no order...and I limited it to one offering per artist. With Dylan, Blonde on Blonde or Highway 61 could easily have gotten the nod...same goes for Clash's London Calling...Springsteen's Born to Run...as well as Tom Waits' Frank's Wild Years or Rain Dogs.

    1. The Clash - The Clash
    2. Rolling Stones - Exile on Main St.
    3. Tom Waits - The Heart of Saturday Night
    4. The Jam - Snap!
    5. Buena Vista Social Club - soundtrack
    6. Willie Nelson - Red Headed Stranger
    7. Dylan - Blood On The Tracks
    8. The Pogues _ Rum, Sodomy and the Lash
    9. Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
    10. Bruce Springsteen - The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle

  6. What?

Metallica is vastly underrated. While I have long buried most of the metal albums from my youth, I refuse to do so with Metallica. Yes, I find much of their recent work uneven and awful, but those 80s albums have a special place in the dark part of my heart.
