    Touche.

I did love the days when all the round National League team logos dotted the outfield walls in Pittsburgh, Philly, Atlanta and other places. And San Francisco had the same type of circular signs, only the 'Stick had all the Giants' retired numbers -- with "NY" for McGraw, Matty, etc.

Just because something isn't around anymore doesn't mean it was all that great. There's nostalgia and then there's progress.

    11. The motorized Vince Coleman-eating tarp at the old Busch Stadium.
    12. Sitting with Dad in the bleachers at said stadium.
    13. When the NFL's top quarterback at the time (Otto Graham) could appear on What's My Line and stump the panel. Maybe it was better when sports wasn't so megaimportant.
    14. The elastic baseball pants waistlines. I may be the only one nostalgic for them.
    15. When arm bars and hammerlocks were common tactics in pro wrestling matches.
    16. Dick the Bruiser
    17. Sky Lo Lo
    18. Lindsey Nelson's Notre Dame highlights (tho I hate Notre Dame)
    19. Fullbacks actually getting 10-15 carries a game.
    20. That game show in which towns would compete against each other in bizarre pseudosports

    Best Noc-A-Homa story:

During the 1982 NL West champion season, the Braves removed his teepee from the right field bleachers in order to accomodate more fans and sell more tickets.
The fans were outraged and the team quickly restored the teepee.

Still around on youtube, though. Some kind soul has uploaded nearly all of the Red on Roundball segments. It's good stuff, hard to believe the NBA once tried to attract fans by teaching fundamentals instead of thrilling with dunks.

    Awesome!!

Here's a great article about Robbins the racer, who had six top-10 finishes in 35 career Winston Cup starts. That's a damn good average for a guy who raced only as a hobby.
