Top bunk or bottom bunk?

Top bunk, please. My first roommate was a sleep-farter.

For some reason when I was between about 5-7 years old, I got hell-bent on the idea I wanted bunk beds and I continually bugged my parents for them. I had my own bedroom so it really didn't make much sense.
Eventually I kinda forgot about it.
When I got to college I moved my crap into the dorm on day one, and grabbed the bottom bunk. Never gave it any thought since.

Bottom bunk. I think because I arrived first but I don't fully remember. We did some bunk shuffling at some point, especially when the third guy in our room moved out. But the guy who had the top bunk stayed on the top one for a while. I think until I farted so loudly one night that I woke him up. He switched beds shortly there after.

Come to think of it, when the third guy moved out, I don't remember what happened to the third bed. My roommate eventually switched beds so he was sleeping above his desk, but for reasons, I don't remember doing the same but I don't think I had a bed above me. I don't know. It was long enough ago and I was in three dorm rooms over the course of my college stay, so it's a blur.

I’m not sure how to interpret your last paragraph.

I figure you didn’t mean you went up top or he visited the bottom.

Someday your Uncle Fart will tell you those stories. They're not age appropriate, for now. Also, read a room, must we.

Well, it does seem like there's a fair balance of tops and bottoms.

Labor Day weekend my freshman year, I visited a friend at another school and watched her roommate fall out of the top bunk and face plant. That was enough for me to switch to the bottom bunk when I got back to campus.

On the Amtrak sleepers they have a quasi-net to keep you from falling out of the top bunk.
